With an IP66- and NEMA 4X-rated casing, this rugged network horn loudspeaker from Axis is capable of broadcasting clear audio across large outdoor spaces. The all-in-one construction incorporates an amplifier to enhance the volume of both live and pre-recorded messages which can be used to deter unwanted behaviour, or deliver announcements such as instructions to members of staff and public announcements, with an on-board digital signal processor (DSP) to improve clarity so important messages are received and understood. Whilst it can used as a standalone unit, its open-platform design allows it to be integrated effortlessly with standard IP networks, with its audio features working alongside video, access control, analytics and voice over IP (VoIP) telephony using SIP. Cybersecurity hardening features such as secure keystore, brute force delay protection and an encrypted file system help keep your equipment safe from threats and compromise.
Audio Capabilities
Make your announcements heard with this speaker's built-in amplifier, reaching a sound pressure level of up to 121 dB to ensure live and pre-recorded messages are delivered effectively. The clarity of these audio announcements is vastly improved over the earlier model thanks to the digital signal processor (DSP) which converts and optimises analog audio into digital, producing clear, understandable messages every time.
Easily perform remote health tests for speaker calibration through the Auto Speaker Test function which verifies the sound level through the built-in microphone, enabling you to set the volume to your desired level for the environment. This feature makes regular calibration simple, ideal for businesses that may need to continually adjust the volume, such as areas with varying occupancy levels. Furthermore, as well as full duplex two-way audio with optional half-duplex, the echo cancellation feature helps improve audio clarity to ensure messages are heard and understood by recognising the sounds the speaker produces as echoes and removing them.
Recording and Audio Management
In addition to live audio, users can utilise the preinstalled Axis Audio Manager Edge to deliver pre-recorded messages. This user-friendly interface features scheduling and zoning abilities meaning these can be set to play at certain times, and in certain areas which is useful for larger installations with multiple areas. With support for video analytics, and when integrated into a video management system such as Milestone XProtect or Axis Camera Station, visual events can trigger the speaker to make announcements.
